Danielle ReedIt must be true that big things really do come in small packages. For living, breathing proof, you don’t have to search very hard through the miles and miles of Texas to find a young woman who is continuously referred to as the "“new sound with an old soul beyond her years.â€" Danielle Reed, a striking blonde with a BIG voice, and brain, has returned home to Texas and hit the ground running in a short amount of time, currently playing acoustic shows east to west and everywhere in between, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in Texas country. Her powerful vocals mesmerize and captivate people of all ages and her complimented guitar playing can hold its'’ own. “"Danielle Reed has a sound that is different and refreshing and it won’'t take long for people to notice her talent,"†says Stephen Bethea of Red7Entertainment..To this day she will tell you that Merle Haggard is her idol and she can probably sing to you a few lyrics of almost any song he has ever recorded. She also finds influences stemming from the likes of sensational songwriters and musicians such as Dolly Parton, Bonnie Raitt and The Eagles. Safe to say, she does not fit the mold of the typical “"girl singer.†"Danielle left home and her family at the age of 17, the day after she graduated Salutatorian from her high school and moved to Nashville, TN where she was able to “"hone her skills,"†so to speak. While there, she experienced Music City to the fullest fulfilling a lifelong dream when she performed onstage at the Ryman Auditorium (Original Grand Old Opry). She also steeped herself in many different genres, including Bluegrass where she had the opportunity to perform at the world famous Station Inn singing with Bluegrass Hall of Famer Roland White and she even played the hometown of Marty Stuart with the man himself in Philadelphia, MS, alongside Connie Smith and the sensational Southbound band. She was also produced by John Carter Cash, son and Studio of the legendary Johnny Cash, at the Cash Cabin and worked with some of the best musicians in the biz while writing and recording music. She'’s been featured in Country Weekly and Music Row Magazine and her music has been played throughout the midwest and over seas. Over the past few years she has also shared the bill with national acts including Justin Moore, Gene Watson, Leona Williams, John Conlee, T. Graham Brown, Charlie Daniels, and Irlene Mandrell as well as Texas artists like Deryl Dodd, King Cone, Jason Boland, Phil Hamilton and Joey Green to name a few.She recently released her latest musical contribution: “"Halfway to Heaven,"†which is exactly where Danielle feels she is. Though not technically her debut, she considers it to be. The CD is made up of songs she wrote over the last year, making “"Halfway to Heaven"†a bio in itself of the singer/songwriter. The project was recorded in Austin, TX at the Famous Arlynn Studios, now known as Mediateach, (Willie Nelson, etc.) with award winning musicians ranging from Willie Nelson’s former bass player, to Linda Ronstadt’s piano player. "“I'’m so excited to see where this is going to take me. For the first time, the music that I am making is coming completely from me and my heart, life, thoughts and feelings and I can’'t wait to see how it effects people when they hear it. After all, that’'s what this music thing is all about, right?â€"
